PROFOH @ COP28 – (Conference of the Parties) Global Climate Change Summit – UAE

​

PROFOH had its presence at the COP28, which was held in UAE this year between 30th November and December 12, 2023, represented by Mansur Arif Shamsi, Global Advisory Board Member and Director – UAE and India with his PROFOH’s credentials spread across the GCC countries, he attended few important events – based on PROFOH’s core theme values of Medicine, Water, Food and Green Earth.

 

Over 85$ Billion USD funds were committed in various industrial and social verticals for the Climate Change interventions which is big land mark achieved at the close of this historic COP28 session.

 

Eventually, few highlights of events which were held on the 10th December 12, 2023 at the Green Zone theme of COP28, on  the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, which is observed every year by the United Nations General Assembly,  celebrating its 75th year Anniversary this year were based on Health, Agriculture, Food Systems, Climate Action and Water.

COP28’s Health, Food, Agriculture and Water Day saw key announcements on global water scarcity and food security, as countries mobilized behind the COP28 UAE Declaration on Agriculture, Food Systems and Climate Action (the Declaration) endorsed by 152 countries and the Water Action Agenda to keep climatically 1.5 degrees temperature within reach.

 

The Conference of the Parties (COP) is an annual United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting held since 1995. It is the most important decision-making body of the UNFCCC which aims to tackle the global climate crisis by strengthening the implementation of the Paris Agreement. The global Conference have 195 represented states 97,372 registered participants to date 1,293 media organizations.

 

It was the first COP event held in the Middle East as well as the first one to be held in an Arabic-speaking country during the last quarter of 2023.

 

As it known fact that the UAE has been a front runner in matters pertaining to international climate change initiatives and negotiations along with other nations in promoting clean energy in the gulf region, as well as a key actor in international climate change negotiations –

 

The selection of the UAE to host COP28 reflects the country’s commitment to tackling climate change and its leadership in global efforts to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency. With its ambitious goals and advanced technology, the UAE has well-positioned itself to provide global leadership on addressing climate change, both through its hosting of COP28 and its continued participation in international negotiations.

The summit has strategically focused on strengthening the world’s global commitments into bringing a greener climate with reduced emissions, building resilience to climate change, mobilizing new initiatives for financing for all related activities which will have best practices implemented around the world with most nations participating in this global drive for a better and healthy living conditions on earth with an aim to keep a check on the 1.5 degree Celsius change the climatic temperature.

 

Azerbaijan will be the Next COP Event Venue !! We look forward for great results for achieving a Greener and Healthier Earth !!

Professionals For Humanity (PROFOH) signed  the much deliberated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with leading British Government agencies, United Kingdom International Health Care Management Association (UKIHMA) and the British Integrated Solutions Export Networks (BISEN related to health on medical missions, hospitals, pharmaceuticals supplies, trainings along with this there are discussions related to conduct  Education interventions also.
